I took a solo trip to Glacier National Park in July of 2021. I think solo travel is one of the most peaceful things a person can do; however, as a female traveler, sometimes It can be a little scary. I stayed in a cabin right next to a diner, which was a fantastic choice as I could walk to food every morning and evening (Highland Glacier Motel) - It was a quaint stay, but it had what I needed: a good location, a bed, and parking! My favorite hike was the Highline Trail, though driving the Going to the Sun Road is not for the faint of heart. It was a beautiful drive; just don’t look down :) Word of advice, get up early, as the lot at Logan’s Pass fills up just after sunrise. Lake McDonald was also spectacular and relaxing. Two things: Buy bear spray (just in case) and try the Huckleberry pancakes! Don’t forget to enjoy the scenery! Our world is truly beautiful!

The Lone Cypress in California is one of the most photographed landmarks along the famous 17 Mile Drive. I wonder if the Lone Cypress feels a sense of sadness, or if perhaps this tree finds boldness in solitude? This tree always has many people passing by, taking selfies, creating videos, etc….perhaps the tree enjoys the company….or is the tree worried about these empty, vapid types of relationships? I was pleased to see that there are indeed other trees nearby. I hope this cypress feels a sense of belonging. I hope the “Lone” is just indicative of how the Cypress stands out…how it faces the sea as if protecting….or searching….dreaming, maybe. I wish this tree luck in all of its endeavors. I hope to see you again, someday.

I wonder what the sky would look like if we participated in a nation-wide “dark skies” event. I would love to see the sky with all the lights turned off.
I wonder what it was like before light pollution. I wonder what it was like to sail the sea by stars. I don’t think I’d be able to do it. I would have been lost
Where is the most remote place with the best stargazing?
